Sort it out!

The Lord has taken away your sin... 2 SAMUEL 12:13

Look, there's no point asking God for blessing when you're carrying around a sack full of unforgiveness you're not willing to let go of, or a sack full of arrogance you need to repent of. Jesus said, '"...when you offer your gift to God at the altar, and you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there at the altar. Go and make peace with that person, and then come and offer your gift."' (Matthew 5:23-24 NCV). Get it sorted! Make things right with that person you need to forgive. Ask forgiveness from that person you've wounded. And what if the person isn't around any more? Then Bible says, '...confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed...' (James 5:16 NIV). Share the issue with someone trustworthy. You'll be surprised how amazing peace of mind can be found through the prayer and the presence of a godly friend. After King David committed a terrible sin he tried to cover his tracks with even greater crimes, but God wouldn't let David carry the guilt in private. He sent a prophet who cleverly cornered David into breaking his silence. Broken, he finally sought forgiveness, pouring out his heart. He then wrote Psalm 51 as his heartfelt prayer. If you have sin to sort out today you really should take a look at it. Father, thank You for peace today. I receive it as a comforting blanket to my heart, my mind and my emotions. I choose to focus on Your Word today. Direct my steps and guard me by Your peace. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
